Established by chef and founder Alex Stupak in 2011, Empellón has grown into a multi-restaurant company with locations in Manhattan’s east village, west village, and midtown east neighborhoods with more in development.
The primary goal of a captain is to ensure diners are receiving high-quality service. The day-to-day duties range from training all levels of servers, overseeing the proper order and flow of dishes, and keeping the dining areas clean and organized. Captains must present a positive, and professional image. Must be self-motivated and customer service oriented with strong interpersonal and oral communication skills. It’s imperative to be able to work with others and have reliable and predictable attendance.
We are seeking Captains for full-time employment who should have New York dining experience, strong beverage knowledge, and the desire to take ownership in an exciting and ambitious restaurant environment. CAPTAIN REQUIREMENTS:
Professional, articulate, friendly, and punctual
Possesses and exhibits the drive to provide exceptional service
Full-time flexible hours are required (able to work nights, weekends, holidays)
Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours; bend, push, pull; lift 30 lbs
A minimum of 2 years experience in a fine dining restaurant as a lead server or captain
Impeccable service standards and attention to detail
An appreciation of fine food & beverage
Professional demeanor, polished appearance with the ability to exceed our guest’s expectations
Sense of urgency, quick and savvy
Excellent verbal communication skills
