Founded in 2014, Saraghina Bakery is a small, independent bakery delivering a wonderful range of handcrafted breads and pastries. We work to bring back ancient traditions in bread. By using ancient and whole grains and through slow, careful fermentations we make beautiful sourdough with a sweet crumb, deep flavor, and a perfect crust. All our flours are certified organic, and we source the bulk of our ingredients from local farms in and around New York.
Saraghina bakery is looking for an enthusiastic pastry cook with experience in laminated doughs! Working with a small dedicated team, creativity is encouraged and Italian dolce knowledge is a bonus!
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Proper scaling of ingredients
– Maintaining a clean, neat, and organized work station
– Preparing all menu items; following recipes and yield guides
– Ability to ice and decorate cakes.
– Early morning availability required
– Knowledge of dough mixing and scaling
– Experience in a bakery or kitchen environment
– Knowledge of laminated pastry
Qualifications and Requirements:
– One to two years of pastry experience
– Independently and efficiently work in our kitchen environment
– Working Weekends required
– Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers, management, and guests
– Must be able to stand for periods of up to eight hours
– Must be at least 18 years old
– Able to lift and carry 50lbs up and down stairs
