Hotel Front Desk Supervisor Full Time

We currently have a career opportunity available for an experienced Hotel Front Desk Supervisor .

We are seeking a self-motivated individual who will assist us in continuing to provide the excellent level of service for which The Garden City Hotel is known.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to,

  • Supervision of all aspects of the Front Desk functions, in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Maintain complete knowledge at all times of:
  • a) all hotel features/services, hours of operation.
  • b) all room types, numbers, layout, decor, appointments and location.
  • c) all room rates, special packages and promotions.
  • d) daily house count and expected arrivals/departures.
  • e) room availability status for any given day.
  • f) scheduled in-house group activities, locations and times.
  • g) all hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Access all functions of the computer system.
  • Review the daily business levels, anticipate critical situations and plan effective solutions to best expedite these situations.
  • Monitor the check-in/check-out process; anticipate critical situations and assist wherever necessary to help alleviate the pressure and to process the guest expediently.
  • Monitor communication logs and ensure that guest requests are followed up within 15 minutes.
  • Monitor and ensure that all cashiering procedures comply with Accounting policies and standards:
  • Work closely with Housekeeping management to ensure accurate status of each room, readiness of rooms for check-in and to report guest concerns.
  • Ensure all closing duties for staff are completed before staff sign out.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years experience as a Front Desk Supervisor or Guest Service Agent, preferably in a luxury style hotel.
  • Previous experience in cashiering; compute basic arithmetic.
  • Proficient in computer skills.
  • Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Ability to:

  • follow directions thoroughly.
  • understand guest’s service needs.

  • direct performance of staff and follow up with corrections when needed.
