- Core work hours: Full Time (40 Hours); Day Shift; Monday – Friday, 08:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
For more than 40 years, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman has served the communities of Kaufman, Crandall, Forney, Gun Barrel City, Mabank, Terrell and surrounding areas. We’re a 91-bed, acute-care, full-service hospital that serves our community with excellence every day.
We specialize in a wide variety of surgical services, including orthopedic surgery as well as diagnostic and imaging services and outpatient physical therapy. We also specialize in respiratory care, nuclear medicine and emergency medicine.
Texas Health Kaufman is a Joint Commission-certified facility. We’re recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Pathway to Excellence hospital for our commitment to creating a positive practice environment that engages and empowers our staff.
Qualifications – External
Job Duties
Operational:
Consistently achieve volume budget/target through progressive process metrics and productivity management.
Manage all accreditation and regulatory standards in addition to strengthening relationships with physicians and the community at large.
Plans, organizes and directs daily operational activities for maximum effective utilization of employees, equipment, and materials within budget allocations and quality standards.
Incorporates measures to obtain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards and requirements responsibilities
Financial:
Consistently achieve financial budgets/targets through progressive management, efforts to expand volume growth, and margin improvement through cost discipline.
Participates in the preparation of the operating & capital budgets for areas of responsibility.
Manages the approved budget and adjusts strategies as needed to meet budgetary expectations.
Regularly communicates with staff hospital/department KPIs, results and future direction.
Stakeholder Satisfaction:
Consistently achieve top deciles in stakeholder satisfaction though identification, implementation and evaluation of stakeholder satisfaction best practices. This includes use of vendor specific satisfaction tools, rounding, and action based improvements.
Collaborate with all customer groups (patients, department/hospital staff, physicians and other customers) to meet & exceed needs/expectations.
Create & maintain a collaborative work environment.
Evaluate customer satisfaction on a regular basis to determine gaps between actual results & expectations.
Quality:
Consistently achieve top deciles in quality metrics through identification, implementation and evaluation of practices. This includes processes/education to staff for appropriate care documentation, constant adherence to patient safety goals and reporting appropriately with action based improvements.
Upholds and/or exceeds all areas for compliance with standards for food safety and sanitation?? directs corrective actions and reports results to the director
Cultural (People):
Consistently achieve top deciles in employee engagement through identification, implementation and evaluation of engagement best practices to include employee mentorship, recognition and retention.
Manages HR aspects effectively, including hiring/termination, formal employee appraisals, evaluations and take disciplinary action when necessary.
Supports diversity and inclusion objectives of the organization.
Track and evaluate staff performance, holding staff accountable of achieving service expectations.
Education
High School diploma or equivalent and Certified Dietary Manager required. Or, Associate’s Degree in Nutrition, Culinary Arts or
related field required.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Experience
5 years progressive experience in a food service position required. Healthcare and management experience required.
Licenses and Certifications
Certified Dietary Manager required with High School diploma.
RD – Registered Dietitian or LD – Licensed Dietitian preferred upon hire
Skills
Managerial knowledge and demonstrated skills; Ability to plan aesthetically pleasing and appetizing menus. High customer service ability and skills to problem solve. Demonstrate food marketing/display creativity. Ability to operate and instruct on all kitchen and cafeteria cooking/holding equipment. Computer skills preferred. Good communication and organizational skills to exercise independent judgment.
