Beverage / Floor Manager – Sushi Oku (Lower East Side) Full Time

Sushi Oku is hiring an experienced Beverage / Floor Manager. We are a newly-opened omakase located in the former Scarr’s Pizza on the Lower East Side.

The Beverage / Floor Manager will oversee daily service while also managing the beverage program. We have a small but premium beverage list focused on classic and/or organic French and American wines and rare sakes.

We are looking for a candidate capable of managing a small, dedicated team who is interested in growing into a General Manager role.

Expected working hours ~45-50 hours a week with 2 days off. Dinner service is 6 nights a week (closed Tuesdays) with 8 seats x 3 seatings. Lunch service is weekends only x 2 seatings.

Previous experience with Japanese cuisine required (a bit flexible for the right candidate). Fine dining experience preferred.

Must have DOH card or willing to obtain in 30 days.

General Duties Include:

– Lead the team during service to deliver outstanding guest experiences, enforce standards of service, and resolve service issues

– Manage beverage program (wine, sake, beer) including inventory, ordering, selecting beverage pairings, and staff training

– Hire, train, and maintain strong staff

– Use Resy to build guest profiles for locals and regulars and to forecast weekly VIPs and allergies

Salary is 70-80k with performance incentives.
