Full job description

We are looking for a cook to join our team at our assisted living. 35+ hours per week. No late nights. Opportunities to learn & grow with us. Open to both per diem or part time.

  • The Cook oversees the smooth operation of dining services inclusive of preparation of meals, general food handling, storage, and meal delivery. The Cook must ensure that food is presentable and meets the nutritional needs, preferences and requests of the general resident population.

GENERAL TASKS

  • – Ensures that dining services proceed smoothly.
  • – Prepare food that is palatable and appetizing in appearance.
  • – Avoid food waste and observe resident plate waste.
  • – Responsible for care of kitchen equipment.
  • – Follows standard recipes and menus, making frequent independent decisions relative to type of meal to be served and method of preparation.
  • – Direct supervision of servers and kitchen utility staff

REQUIREMENTS

Must be at least 21 years of age. Certificate degree from an accredited culinary school preferred. At least 3+ years work full time experience in food services preparation and supervision.

Pre employment physical, drug screen & background required.

Hours vary, morning and afternoon/evening. Some weekend availability required.

Job Types: Part-time, Per diem

Pay: $19.00 – $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
