Involves a wide variety of non-skilled tasks such as loading machines, packing, labeling, palletizing, and assembling boxes; the task is performed with basic tools such as knives, tapers, and other tools that do not require training.
Job responsibilities:
- Laborers/Packers – Pack fresh and frozen meat products
- Required to work in cold temperatures 40 F
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends, if/when necessary
- Ability to effectively follow work instructions
- Assist in changeovers as needed
- Ensure conformance to specifications
- Able to read and understand written instructions
- Ability to perform frequent lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Load and unload items from machines, carts, and dollies
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be able to lift up to and including 50 pounds.
- Able to push and pull items in excess of 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Able to grip and grasp small objects repeatedly.
- Able to work in a cold, damp environment.
- Able to stand 4 plus hours at one time.
- Able to bend, twist, stoop on an occasional basis.
