Moi Homemade Bakery, located in South Miami, is seeking an experienced assistant baker to join our team. We are a neighborhood bakery and cafe dedicated to creating delicious baked goods, cakes and lunch and breakfast sandwiches using the best ingredients. We strive to create an incredible guest experience and provide genuine customer service and hospitality. We are looking for a new team member who will take part in crafting our cakes and sweets, breakfast and lunch sandwiches made to order, as well as performing prep work and basic customer service. We are a family-run business, with a small and warm team and a respectful and enjoyable working environment.

This is a 5-day-a-week daytime position with morning or afternoon shifts, 7 am-3 pm, or 12 pm-8 pm.
The ideal candidate would bring the following:
-Experience working as a prep cook in a food service establishment
-The ability to be professional, consistent, and take responsibility seriously
-A hard worker with a sense of urgency
-A positive attitude and ability to work well with others
Job responsibilities include:
-Executing daily prep work, including chopping vegetables, making sauces and dressings, roasting and slicing meats, etc.
-Ensuring station is clean, and maintain cleanliness standards while working
-Setting up and breaking your station; maintaining organization and proper rotation of items
-Ability to follow a recipe and consistently make items

Responsibilities:
– Prepare a variety of baked goods such as pastries, cakes, cookies and sandwiches
– Follow recipes and measurements accurately to ensure consistent quality
– Operate baking equipment and machinery
– Monitor the baking process to ensure products are baked to perfection
– Decorate cakes and pastries as required
– Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area
– Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines
– Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate baking schedules
– Eventual customer service
Qualifications:
– Previous experience as a baker or in a similar role preferred
– Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
– Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
– Excellent time management skills
– Strong communication and teamwork skills
Skills:
– Customer service: Interacting with customers to take orders and provide assistance as needed
– Cook: Preparing ingredients, cooking food items, and following recipes
– Food safety: Adhering to proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices
– Knife: Safely handling and using knives for food preparation tasks
– Catering: Assisting with catering orders and ensuring timely delivery of baked goods
– Cake decorating: Applying icing, frosting, and decorative elements to cakes
– Food handling: Properly storing, packaging, and labeling baked goods for sale or distribution
– Food preparation: Measuring ingredients, mixing doughs/batters, and preparing fillings/toppings for baked goods
– Restaurant: Working in a restaurant setting with a focus on baking/pastry production
– Kitchen: Operating kitchen equipment, maintaining cleanliness, and following safety protocols
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $11.00 – $14.00 per hour
