Avant Garden is a plant-based fine dining experience in Manhattan’s East Village. We are a small dining room specializing in intimate, personalized dinner service. A large amount of our guests are regulars who love the restaurant. We are hiring immediately for a person with a warm and welcoming personality to take reservations, seat guests and assist with dinner service. Hosts who come to us with open minds and a desire to learn often move on to do great things within our company. The work environment is inclusive and we prioritize applicants who are driven, genuine and passionate about building long lasting relationships, “service from the heart”, creativity and food & wine.

Full Job Description
Service Assistant / Host / Hostess
Must have experience in fine dining restaurants.
You will be expected to:
welcome guests with warmth and confidence
confirm / take reservations, correspond with guests
answer phones
compile notes about our guests in the system so we can anticipate thier and needs and serve them better everytime they join us for dinner, (ie: do they dine with us often? do they have a favorite dish? do they have any allergies? etc.)
seat customers during dining hours
administrative work
assist in floor service (includes but not limited to clearing and bussing tables, pouring water and alerting the server and management to the needs of our guests during periods of high volume)
