Sweet Sam’s Baking Company is one of New York’s finest bakeries with a 75,000 sq. ft. production facility located in the Bronx. For over 25 years we have been baking premium quality bakery products for businesses of all sizes, from neighborhood cafes and local gourmet markets to regional distributors and national and international food services. We are looking for a bakery production worker, who is detail oriented, takes directions well and has a “can do” attitude. This is the ideal position for the person who has some professional baking experience and would like to work for an established growing organization.
Job Requirements:
Familiar with mixing large amounts of cake and cookie batter
Able to read and measure ingredients accurately
Capable of working in high capacity production
Assist making cakes, cookies, bars, muffins, cupcakes, and pastries
Handle and move finished goods, ingredients, tools, and baking pans
Understand and practice food safety (SQF) and GMP’s
Use required safety procedures when operating equipment
Ensure your station and and equipment are sanitized, cleaning as you go
Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
A team player who is both cooperative and collaborative
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year of experience with mixing and baking in high volume production is highly desired
The ability to read and speak English
Bilingual Spanish preferred but not mandatory
Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Work in hot or cold environment
Must be able to stand for the shift, excluding breaks
Available to start at 6 AM for 9 hour shifts, 4 days a week. Sometimes there may be a 5th day with some overtime.
