Job Overview

The overnight Chef De Partie (Supervisor) will assist with the execution of daily operations by overseeing staff training, and distributing production tasks in collaboration with the bread production teams. The Chef De Partie works to maintain high quality standards by coaching employees and promoting a positive work culture for the team. The Chef De Partie is well informed on the policies and expectations of the company. This is a supervisory position.

Main Role & Responsibilities :

Oversees the daily operations of the overnight production, supervising the Bread production team to ensure quality and consistency of all bread products in partnership with the Bread Sous Chef.
Monitors the progress and provides training on shaping, proofing, mixing, baking techniques, and all the processes setup by the Sous Chef and Head Baker and assists in organization of day production in collaboration with the team
In case of production issues, is responsible for engaging the troubleshooting strategies as directed by the Sous Chef and Head Baker.
Upholds and complies with all company policies in the Bread department and communicates cases of non-compliance to the Sous Chef and Head Baker.
Is responsible for maintaining compliance of Bread production with defined food safety regulations.
Is responsible for Cleanliness/ Organization- Supervises that opening and closing processes of the shifts are respected.
Is responsible for maintaining communication between the Bread production team and the Sous Chef and Head Baker, including but not limited to weekly debrief email, shift reports, etc.
Participate in the creation and development of a constructive and productive work environment within the Bread Production Team, in collaboration with the other Bread production team members, Sous Chef and the Head Baker.
The Chef De Partie reports to the Bread Sous Chef

This position involves:

lifting up to 50lbs
Working night shifts (this is a Night position, availability from 7pm is mandatory
Standing up for long hours
Work in a cold/hot environment, with flour
Climbing on a ladder
Working with sharp equipment, or heavy machinery like ovens
Maintaining calm and composure in all circumstances, in a fast pace and high volume environment and any other additional main and essential functions the position would require.

Requirements
Minimum of 1 year of artisan baking experience preferred
Previous commercial kitchen experience required (Bakery, Restaurant)
Ability to take constructive criticism and work to improve your craft
Open availability, Weekdays, and Weekends.
Supervisory experience preferred but not required
