The Communications Events Event Coordinator (CT) is part of a team that plans, develops and produces large-scale, complex and high-profile marketing-driven events in support of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. The role will provide support to various team projects and to Event Managers who are planning both Walt Disney World events and Disney Signature Experiences events. This role will have exposure to a vast array of projects/events that are designed to drive superior results (typically media/PR coverage) that align with business goals and marketing objectives.

This position is based in Florida, on-site support at the Walt Disney World Resort is required. The Event Coordinator (CT) is a casual-temporary role with seasonal hours. Casual-temporary roles are non-benefitted and do not offer guaranteed hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support to the Communications Events Team Members that includes, but is not limited to, scheduling meetings, developing agendas, creating and disseminating meeting recaps
  • Fulfill media scheduling needs utilizing an interview scheduling database leading up to event execution
  • Staff and support media content locations during events, taking direction from Interview Scheduling and Media Rep event leads
  • Assist in event itinerary development and event execution both during the planning phase and on-site. General Event Support to include: set-up and load-in, help staffing during events, and assist with post-event strike, box up, shipping, etc.
  • Partner with internal and external vendors to secure contracts and process Purchase Orders
  • Research and make recommendations on event amenities and promotional products
  • Plan and track event assets such as park tickets and meal vouchers
  • Act as the point of contact for transportation moves on and off property
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and partners
  • Cultivate and maintain effective external relationships with vendors and other essential partners
  • Stay informed of current industry trends, best practices and other information beneficial to role and leverage that knowledge to improve events


Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of event experience in a similar event role
  • Demonstrated organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting multiple projects with varying priorities and deadlines
  • Strong PC proficiency including: Microsoft Office &/or Mac (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Keynote)
  • Workload is Seasonal and Project-based. Hours are varied and limited, while primary hours would be weekday office hours, occasionally there may be a requirement to include evenings and weekends
  • Willingness and availability to travel domestically and internationally as required


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior Disney experience and/or knowledge of the Disney brand
  • Knowledge and experience working with digital technologies and Public/Media Relations and Public Affairs
  • Possess knowledge and effectively leverage trends and technology in events, maximizing the reach and relevancy to the audience
  • Bilingual/Multilingual abilities a plus


Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or equivalent work experience
