Works under supervision, supervises daily service area activities and provides customer support to a service area.
Summary : Responsible for daily mailroom operations and backup for other office personnel. Responsible for the pick-up, delivery, sorting, bulk mailings, preparation and collection of mail from USPS and sort campus departments mail for deliver on/off campus. Greet customers and assist students with mailbox combinations. process Departmental Billing Statements, maintaining all department files and records.
Responsibilities:
Mailing:
Departmental duties: picking up, sort and delivering campus mail to the Galveston post Office, picking up sort and delivering campus mail to/from departments, including metering and bulk mail out of campus mail, following general mailroom practices.
Clerical:
Responsible for mailroom daily operations and backup for other office personnel including: processing deliveries, overseeing counter service, issuing mailbox combinations, processing departmental billing, maintaining departmental files and records, maintaining mailbox data base.
Customer Service:
Provide general information to customers including costs, mailing procedures and general campus information
Customer Service:
Greets and assists customers and processes their requests for services needed.
Administration:
Represents mailroom at campus activates such as New Student Conferences.
Other
Back-up in the bookstore and copy center as needed
Other:
Performs other duties as needed
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service skills and detail-oriented.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
License : Valid Drivers License required
