Customer Service / Coffee Shop Barista (Duval) Full Time

VPCC Barista Job Responsibilities:
• Promotes coffee consumption by selling coffee, preparing, and serving a variety of coffee drinks, along with all menu items including pastries and cookies
• Welcomes customers by determining their coffee interests and needs
• Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu, and answering questions
• Prepares, sells, and upsells coffee drinks, merchandise, and menu items
• Generates revenues by attracting new customers
• Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee, brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffeehouse
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; opening/closing/shift prep checklist
• Maintaining safety is our #1 priority mentality, a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations
• Maintaining and improving the appearance of the coffeehouse
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications; maintaining personal networks
• Enhances coffeehouse reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

***Work Hours: Part-time/Full-time (7a-3p)

***Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
• Prior café or coffee shop experience, hospitality or ServSafe Certified a plus
• Familiarity with telephone and point-of-sale software

Compliance with all VPC Company Policies and procedures, including but not limited to all applicable Federal/State Regulations

***Physical Requirements:
Standing for the entire duration of the scheduled shift
