Fine Arts Studio Monitor Part Time

Summary
The Fine Arts Studio Monitor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and safety of the Photography, Fine Arts, and music facilities. They are responsible to open and close the studios/lab and assist students when possible. They will assist in special projects assigned by Faculty or Immediate Supervisor. Must be a Fine Arts Major or Minor. Evening and weekend hours preferred.. This position require the work to be performed in-person.

Essential Functions
The studio monitor must maintain vigilance at all times for the safety and well being of students and facilities.
Must be responsible to open the doors of the music practice rooms and art studios for students enrolled in those classes and lock up at the end of lab hours. The studio monitor will also notify security when any unlocked studios are found unoccupied.
The studio monitor will help maintain the facilities and keep the chemicals in fresh supply.
The studio monitor will provide students, primarily in photography, with technical assistance with their projects. However they will not be evaluators or judges of content of the student projects. Must be cordial and friendly with the students they are assisting
Must enforce all lab policies and report any problems to faculty or Lab Technicians. Encourage and assist in keeping the facilities clean and orderly. Conserve resources by turning off lights, water, equipment, etc. when not needed.

Must be reliable and responsible (if the Fine Arts Studio Monitor anticipates absence from his or her assigned hours or is running late, the F.A. Studio Monitor is responsible to arrange substitution with one of the other F.A. Studio Monitors).
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Qualifications/Requirements

Must be able to operate a dry mounting press, a photo darkroom enlarger.
Must have proficiency in darkroom black & white printing, Preferred proficiency in RA4 color printing, Must have proficiency in matting and dry mounting.
Must have good Written and Oral Communication skills
M ust be able to mix photo darkroom chemicals
