Principal Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY:
Greet all members, checks membership and access status, answers calls and provides support for the Membership Department.
INTERPERSONAL, CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS UTILIZED:
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to interact in a positive way with fellow staff and members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet members and follow all entry procedures and protocols
Answer phones as a representative of Alper JCC
Communicate effectively information pertaining to programs, schedules, philosophy, fees, etc.
Positive daily communication with members and staff addressing their needs & concerns
Prepare mailing packets as assigned
Attend staff meeting as required
Provide clerical support for the Membership Department as requested
Follow personnel and safety policies of the Center as described in the Employee Handbook and the Safety Handbook

Requires writing memos
Requires face-to-face discussions with individuals or teams
Requires contact with others (face-to-face, by telephone, or otherwise)
Requires work with others in a group or team
Requires work with external customers or the public

May require dealing with unpleasant, angry, or impolite/ unsatisfied people.
Work Setting
Must have a level head and have the ability to take control of emergency situations, including but not limited to: rendering first aid, calling 911, contacting supervisors, and/or following emergency protocols.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent
Short-term on-the-job training
Current CPR/First Aid/ AED certification preferred
Customer service experience required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NECESSARY:
Knowledge of office equipment, keyboarding, Excel, Microsoft Word, CCC
Telephone/communication skills
Good organizational skills
Customer Service skills
Language
Must be proficient in the English language both verbally and have the ability to properly write using correct grammar and spelling.
Ability to speak other languages a plus.
Physical Demands

Work in bent, twisted or awkward work posture and stand for more than two hours in a row.
Must be able to lift, bend, and/or reach, including with outstretched arms and overhead.

Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
Do repetitive movements with hands and/or wrists.
Standing or walking for long periods of time.
Must be able to bend, twist, squat, and/or work in other awkward work positions.
Climb, balance, stoop, kneel/crouch, and crawl.

Ability to manage difficult or emotional members, responds promptly to customer needs.Respond to requests for assistance and service. Meets commitments. Interpersonal skills, maintains confidentiality, works with integrity, works well in a team setting.
Salary: $10 per hour.
