Fontana Host ( Part Time ) Part Time

Position Summary

The host will greet and seat guests as they enter the Fontana Restaurant. A host is also responsible for selling, and booking large party reservations for all Biltmore restaurant outlets. This position requires consistent adherence to policies and procedures of the department as outlined in the Biltmore Standard Operating Procedures (BSOP’S).

Responsibilities

Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
Greet guests; acknowledge guests.
Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of the restaurant.
Maintain complete knowledge of:Daily house count, VIPs in-house, arrivals/departures.
Scheduled group activities and locations within resort.
All resort facilities and services.
Hours of operation of each outlet.
Answer department telephone.
Forward the phone at the end of the shift and leave hostess stand clean and organize.
Organize the host stand for service.
Make sure the Armoire is always clean and organized.
Maintain all menus clean and display them at host station.
Make sure that all tables are properly set.
Clean chair cushions.
Don’t leave the host stand unless authorized by a manager or supervisor.
Make sure that all tables are approached by a server and utilize guest surname.
Help servers with drink orders.
Monitor all guest activity in assigned work area; be alert to any sign of trouble. Ensure safety of guests and enforcement of pool rules precautions according to department standards.
Utilize first aid when situations demand such.
Complete closing duties and paperwork.
Clean designated equipment and sections.
Restock items for next shift.
Secure storage areas.

Qualifications
Experience and Education Required

ExperienceMinimum one year restaurant experience preferred

Physical Demands

Must be able to:Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds.
Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Use, carry, and operate all necessary office equipment using finger dexterity.
Communicate with employees, managers, subordinates and guests through verbal communication, hearing ability, and visual acuity.
Visually look at a computer for extended periods of time.
Adapt to moderate temperatures in the hotel as thermostat is controlled by hotel environmental systems. Most work tasks are performed indoors.
