Job Title: Guest Ambassador

SUMMARY
The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science is seeking a part-time Greeter/Guest Ambassador for the Guest Experience department. The Guest Ambassador is responsible for providing a welcoming environment for all guests and members assisting with greeting and way finding, delivering exhibit and ticket information, monitoring access points throughout the museum, and more. This team member is responsible for embodying the first and last impression of Frost Science and is an integral part of the 365-day operation. Must present a friendly demeanor while assisting guests with exhibit information, entry and exit, while adhering to safety standards and procedures. Must embrace and model outstanding customer service to all.
EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY: Hourly/Part-Time
SALARY: $10.00 per hour
MUST BE AVAILABLE A MINIMUM OF 3 DAYS FROM 9am-7pm. MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK ON WEEKDAYS, WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend and actively participate in daily shift meetings
Actively engage guests and share knowledge of the exhibits/planetarium shows to enhance the overall guest experience
Understand and adhere to department policies and procedures regarding appearance, floor etiquette and overall safety
Follow all administered open water and animal safety training procedures
Utilize customer service training to identify guest issues and determine best course of action to provide guest recovery
Represent the museum with the upmost integrity, exemplifying values of the organization and sharing our mission daily
Identify and communicate areas of improvement and share with managers to maximize guest satisfaction
Assist guests with information and direction in the event of an emergency or evacuation
Assists with enforcing company safety policies
Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
High School diploma (minimum requirement); higher level of education preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Customer service experience in a high-volume environment
Must be friendly and possess strong interpersonal skills to deal tactfully and effectively with guests
Must embrace the multicultural differences of our staff and guests
Must be able to multitask and handle stressful situations in a fast-paced environment
Fluency in multiple languages is desirable
Must have strong oral and written communication skills
Must be a team player who can work under minimal supervision
Must show flexibility when asked to perform other tasks as needed

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds on select occasions. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, move quickly from space to space to assist guests. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those as employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The working environment is both the interior and exterior spaces of the museum. Must be able to work for extended periods of time in elements such as sun, rain, heat, wind, etc. Exposure to outdoor activities is often requested.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
Level 2 background clearance as defined by Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
Drug screening as part of the Drug Free Workplace Program.
