Overview:

Chayote Barrio Kitchen is seeking experienced and customer-focused Servers to join our team. As a Server, you are responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, guiding them through the dining experience, and ensuring their overall satisfaction. Your attention to detail, professionalism, and ability to create a personalized dining experience will contribute to the overall success of the restaurant.

The ideal start date for this position will be Mid-August of 2023 and will be in Winter Park, Florida.

Essential duties:

Guest Service:

· Welcome guests with a warm and friendly demeanor, providing an exceptional first impression.

· Guide guests through the menu, offering suggestions and answering questions about food and beverage options.

· Take accurate and detailed orders, ensuring special requests, dietary restrictions, and allergies are communicated effectively to the kitchen staff.

· Serve food and beverages promptly and accurately, with attention to presentation and proper tableside etiquette.

· Anticipate guest needs and proactively provide additional service or assistance.

Product Knowledge:

· Develop a deep understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and flavor profiles, to confidently make recommendations and offer insights to guests.

· Stay updated on daily specials, seasonal offerings, and any menu changes to provide accurate information to guests.

· Familiarize yourself with the beverage program, including wines, beers, and specialty cocktails, to make appropriate recommendations and pairings.

Table Management:

· Ensure the cleanliness and proper setup of assigned tables, including linens, glassware, flatware, and other tableware.

· Monitor table turnover and manage guest reservations to maximize seating capacity and provide efficient service.

· Coordinate with other team members, such as food runners and bussers, to ensure smooth and timely delivery of orders and table clearing.

Upselling and Revenue Generation:

· Proactively suggest and promote additional items, such as bites, appetizers, desserts, and specialty beverages, to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue.

· Utilize sales techniques and product knowledge to upsell and recommend premium or high-margin menu items.

· Accurately process guest payments, handle cash transactions, and ensure proper reconciliation of checks.

Service Standards and Compliance:

· Adhere to the restaurant’s service standards, policies, and procedures to deliver consistent and exceptional service to all guests.

· Maintain a professional appearance and conduct, following grooming and uniform guidelines.

· Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling and storage of food, cleanliness of work areas, and safe handling of equipment.

Qualifications:

· Previous experience as a Server in an upscale restaurant or similar high-end dining establishment.

· Strong knowledge of food and beverage, including menu items, ingredients, and proper service techniques.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with guests and provide personalized service.

· Outstanding customer service skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.

· Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize responsibilities.

· Attention to detail and the ability to maintain composure under pressure.

· Knowledge of TOAST / POS systems and cash handling procedures.

· Understanding of safety and sanitation regulations in a restaurant setting.

$10 per hour + Tips

Tip distribution: 70% individual /25% Pool / 5% Tip Out
