JOB DESCRIPTION: Janitorial Supervisor *OVERNIGHT*
REPORTING TO: Janitorial Manager
LOCATION: LaGuardia Airport (LGA) – Queens, NY
SCHEDULE: Full-time *OVERNIGHT*
SUMMARY: The Overnight Janitorial Supervisor ensures that the building is kept in clean and orderly condition (24/7 operation). They must ensure the timely execution of a range of light and heavy cleaning work activities for all areas, furniture, fixtures and equipment. The Janitorial Supervisor is also responsible for the coordination and completion of projects, payroll, quality, control, and inventory management. They also oversee all aspects of projects, sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project to upper management. The Janitorial Supervisor performs all responsibilities with a focus on the needs of our customer and in accordance with our company standards. They must serve as an example of professionalism to all associates in dress, behavior and customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule work and cleaning associates to ensure proper and efficient productivity on a daily basis (60 associates).
- Monitor supply inventory and equipment functionality, recommending changes or maintenance as required.
- Perform Quality Control (QC) audits on a regular basis.
- Counsel associates in order to resolve productivity and personnel concerns.
- Report incidents, procedure, and safety or security violations to management.
- Assist management in maintaining personnel records, assisting in staff evaluations (performance, conduct and customer service), and recommend and execute personnel actions.
- Maintain control of work activities and productivity to ensure site safety, health, environmental and security policies and procedures.
- Identify and implement process/service improvements.
- Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects and oversees all aspects of the projects and staff.
- Organize and coordinate snow removal.
- Keep track of all periodic maintenance of equipment.
- Schedule employee vacations and keep records of their paid time off.
- Attend employment-related hearings as scheduled.
- Attend and participate in Customer meetings.
- Responds to client requests in a timely and professional manner.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- This Airport specific classification requires each incumbent to complete and pass a Transportation Security Administration/Federal Aviation Administration (TSA/FAA) 10-year employment history verification, which will include fingerprinting and a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) prior to being considered for this position. This status must be maintained for the duration of employment at the airport.
- Must have at least 1 year of facility supervision and janitorial/cleaning experience in a commercial setting.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays. *Schedules are subject to change with little notice and the Supervisor must be able to respond immediately to emergencies/urgent situations.*
- Knowledge of the equipment, tools and materials used in building maintenance.
- Excellent leadership and personnel management skills with at least 2 years of experience Supervising employees.
- Strong time management, prioritization and multitasking abilities.
- Must be able to communicate well and work well with a team.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
