Position Summary: The Kitchen Manager is responsible for assisting the overall management of the restaurant daily operation, especially as it pertains to the back of house. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for promoting and maintaining a friendly, hospitable and inviting environment to ensure guest satisfaction and achieve restaurant profitability. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for promoting and maintaining a professional, clean and safe work environment for all employees.

Essential Functions:
· Run a cost-effective and quality operation, ensuring all Company Policies, Procedures and Quality Standards are met.
· Manage all kitchen and back of house operations. Ensure guest satisfaction and excellent food quality and consistency. Handle concerns or complaints pertaining to the kitchen in a prompt and professional manner.
· Analyze, manage and control sales, profit and loss according to company standards and objectives. Maintain acceptable inventory levels according to company standards.
· Analyze inventory and usage rate measures and other key performance data in order to make the best decisions for the restaurant.
· Maintain restaurant cleanliness in accordance with company quality standards. Ensure restaurant equipment is properly maintained. Able to properly operate all restaurant equipment.
· Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety & Health Act, as well as local health and safety codes.
· Clearly communicate and consistently adhere to company policies, standards, procedures and systems and hold employees accountable.
· Manage team member performance by planning, assigning and directing work responsibilities. Provide clear feedback, recognition and motivation. Administer performance reviews, coaching/counseling and discipline when appropriate. Lead, develop and train team members.
· Work closely with Assistant Restaurant Managers, General Manager, Area Managers and Human Resources to address and resolve employee issues in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures, as well as applicable federal and state laws.
· Maintain employee files and documentation in a locked cabinet. Ensure company compliance with federal and state regulations. Recruit, interview and select the most qualified candidates to fill hourly team member positions.
Additional Responsibilities That May Be Performed:
- Get to know the neighborhood and surroundings of the restaurant and take active interest in the community, its people and events.
- Preparing and sending requested information and/or reports to managers and/or other company representatives as needed.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- Minimum three (3) years experience as a restaurant kitchen or assistant manager or team leader of a fast casual restaurant (preferably), quick service restaurant, and/or casual restaurant, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Education, Experience and Skills Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). College degree preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age; hold a valid driver’s license, maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance to Company Policy and retain automobile insurance coverage in at least the amount required by law.
- Proficient in the Google Suite and/or Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with federal and state employment and safety regulations preferred.
- Ability to effectively manage, develop and coach employees.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Ability to adapt easily to changing needs and demands.

Internal Interactions:
This position interacts internally with different levels of the organization, including but not limited to Restaurant employees, General Managers, Media Team members, etc.
External Interactions: This position interacts externally with guests, job applicants, vendors and community organizations.
Leadership Responsibility: Supervise, direct and manage the work of approximately 8 to 30 hourly employees, including hourly supervisors, in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures, as well as applicable federal and state laws.
Physical Requirements: The work area includes: food, ovens, mixers, food processors, knives, slippery floors, and, at time, high temperatures. It is a hands-on, non-smoking, restaurant setting involving constant interaction with customers, employees, managers and vendors.
The ability to effectively communicate, identify food quality, tolerate heat and walk-in freezers, lift and/or maneuver up to 50 pounds, and stand/walk on hard surfaces during the course of the work day.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather).
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to taste and/or smell.
The employee is required to sit; grip and grasp with hands, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and bend at the waist. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus
