Basic Function:

Responsible for the preparation of food to be served complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards and following established food production programs and procedures. Responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste, and fraud.

Responsibilities:

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

· Preparation of food served using established production procedures and systems.

· Observe proper food preparation and handling techniques.

· Serves food in proper pre-determined portion sizes.

· Serves food that is the correct serving temperature and quality. Any substandard quality food must be brought to the attention of the supervisor and properly discarded.

· Cooperates and works together with all co-workers;

· Plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment.

· Store food properly and safely, marking date and item.

· Report necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor.

· Correctly prepare all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders.

· Keep work area neat and clean at all times; clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation.

· Complete food temperature checks before service.

· Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards.

· Report to work in a neat and clean uniform. Well-groomed hair and personal hygiene are essential.

· Other duties as directed.

Essential Physical Requirements:

Estimated percentage of daily physical requirements and/or number of pounds that may need to be lifted on the job.

· 100% — Walks and stands during entire shift.

· 100% — Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop kneel, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less.

· Remain stationary for long periods of time.

· Be able to lift 20 to 50 lbs.

· Hazards include, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns.

· Frequent washing of hands.

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
