Mail Room Clerk Full Time

Job Summary:
The Mail Room Clerk reports to the Claims Supervisor/Manager and works in collaboration with Claims and Negotiations Department, VP of Client Management, Account Managers and Client Services Coordinators to ensure claims support and administrative functions are optimized in order to support Client Accounts.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Daily opening and sorting of incoming mail and distributing mail to receiving party
Daily stamping and sealing of outgoing mail
Daily scanning of all incoming claims into the company’s Operating System and OCR
Responsible for maintaining the postage funding Log
Daily scanning of Medical Records attached to incoming claims
Daily sorting and filing of all scanned claims into clients’ “To be processed” folder
Daily prepping and scanning patient reimbursements, except for Client MHG
Daily identifying AFS claims from “unknown claims” and open patient files in the company’s operating system accordingly
Any other tasks as requested by Claims Supervisor/Manager and/or Senior Management

Required / Desired Knowledge, Experiences and Skills:

Knowledge of scanning OCR programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
Bilingual (ENGLISH/SPANISH)
Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact positively with clients, providers and professional staff. Must represent the organization in a professional and knowledgeable manner
Computer skills essential to manage correspondence, database maintenance, spreadsheet analysis and for information entry / retrieval from the company’s internal system
Knowledge and experience in healthcare and insurance field or any other field related to the industry

Education/Certifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required

Physical Working Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit for long periods of time; use of hands to grasp, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; finger dexterity; talk; hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
