The Cleaning Attendant enhances MDC’s Tower Theater Miami patrons’ movie-going experience by providing superior janitorial services to ensure a safe, healthy and aesthetically pleasing venue for guests. This position performs manual work involving the use of proper equipment/tools such as vacuums, blowers, and materials in the performance of janitorial functions.
Duties & Responsibilities
Collects and removes trash from screening rooms, lobby, restrooms, concessions, etc. Wipes, dusts, and polishes surfaces including seats, tables, handrails, walls, counters, etc. Cleans restrooms, including all sinks, fixtures, and toilets Cleans mirrors, windows, and glass Uses blower or vacuum to effectively clean between and under theater seats Sweeps, vacuums, and mops floors, including utilizing proper signage to avoid slips, trips, and falls Disassembles, cleans, and reassembles various food and beverage equipment Empties trash receptacles as required Stocks restrooms, janitor closets, and cleaning carts as needed; communicates needed supplies to management Ensures safely use of all chemicals in accordance with their directions Reports damaged/broken equipment to management Observes and reports any potential safety or maintenance concerns to management Assists other team members as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Completion of two (2) years of High School and one (1) month of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures Effective interpersonal and communication skills Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask Sufficient physical strength and agility to perform a variety of janitorial tasks in the care and limited maintenance of buildings and equipment Ability to manage time efficiently and produce quality work within pre-set time frames Ability to work well with other team members, all personalities at various levels Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening, weekend and holiday assignments Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
