Ester is hiring a Porter/Prep Cook
Ester is a wine bar opening in Ridgewood, Queens, Spring 2022 and we’re putting together our opening team. Ester aims to be a gathering place to build and deepen relationships over good wine and food.
Ester will offer a thoughtful food menu that is meant to compliment the simplicity and elegance of the wine list while working closely with local farmers to ensure seasonality and quality.
We are a small team that works together. As Porter/Prep Cook you will work closely with the Lead Line Cook to assist in preparing the best possible foods for our staff and guests. Responsibilities include receiving, dishwashing, food preparation and cleaning. You should have 1 year experience.
This is a nighttime position that requires open availability, including weekend work. While performing the duties of the job, a Lead Line Cook is regularly required to stand , walk, walk up and down stairs; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. They must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Ester, tendrá un significativo menú, que complemente la simplicidad y la elegancia de una lista de vinos, trabajando muy de cerca con agricultores y vinicultores locales asegurando así, la disponibilidad y calidad.

Como ayudante de cocina/lavaplatos, estarás trabajando muy de cerca con el cocinero de la línea, asistiéndolo en preparar la mejor comida posible para satisfacción propia y de nuestros clientes.
Las responsabilidades incluyen, recibir mercancías, lavar trastes en general, preparar alimentos y limpiar.
Requerimos de un año de experiencia.
Este es un puesto de noche que requiere de disponibilidad en todo momento incluyendo fines de semana.
La responsabilidad de un cocinero/ lava platos, es regularmente: estar de pie, caminar, subir y bajar escaleras, alcanzar objetos con sus manos y brazos, hablar, escuchar, subir, balancear, arrodillarse, y agacharse.
Muy frecuentemente levantar y mover bultos de 25 libras y ocasionalmente de hasta 50 libras.
