Pantry Chef Full Time

Job Summary

The Pantry Chef position performs a multitude of roles in the kitchen. The primary functions will be working with cold items such as salads, assisting with garnishing dishes, preparing desserts, and prepping items for upcoming service. Washing vegetables, slicing and chopping food items, and adhering to food hygiene standards are essential to function well as a Pantry Chef.

Essential Functions

Make cold appetizers, including salads
Garnish dishes with spices, nuts, fruits, and vegetables
Perform meal-prep activities before guests arrive (like chopping vegetables, cutting fish and meat and washing fruits)
Store ingredients to keep them fresh and reduce food wastage
Check food plating, temperature and portions for all cold dishes
Sterilize kitchen equipment at the end of your shift
Recommend modern recipes to renew our menu and add nutritious, creative cold dishes
Maintain a clean station at all times
Job Specifications & Qualifications

Understanding of health and safety rules in a kitchen.
Requires an active food handling certification
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Availability to work in shifts, including evenings and weekends, and flexibility for scheduling
Attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Physical Requirements

Must be able to move around assigned location frequently
Work around ovens/stoves and/or utilize walk in freezers
Physical requirements include bending, standing for long periods of time, and lifting items weighing 5lbs+.
