Job Description
Under minimal supervision, the Gate Attendant is a front-line customer service position which requires physical stamina to stand, walk, or sit for 8 or more hours per day in an outdoor work environment. Gate Attendants are required to work weekends and holidays and are responsible for managing cash collected from selling tickets to patrons entering various City Beach Parks including accurately making change and reporting collections. Must possess excellent customer service skills, communicate effectively with the public, and promote a positive recreation environment. Gate Attendants must be able to act quickly and calmly in emergency situations and communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Besides working outdoors, physical demands include, but are not limited to, squatting, crouching, reaching, bending, twisting, and lifting/moving up to 20 pounds. Tourism Ambassador Certification and similar prior experience preferred. Candidates must be at least 16 years of age to be considered for the position.
