Desserts by Toffee to Go is looking for a Full-time Baker/Pastry Chef. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pastry or baking.

Desserts by Toffee to Go, a family-owned dessert café located in South Tampa, has won numerous awards for best desserts and 5-star ratings on Yelp and other social media platforms. We have an Instagram following of 16,000 people and growing, where your desserts will be highlighted. A dine-in and take-out destination for the greater Tampa area. We strive to make every moment a memorable one. Whether our guests are sharing a few laughs with friends over our made-from-scratch desserts, or enjoying a delectable cup of coffee, we want our guests to savor every moment. The Baker/Pastry Chef is essential to preparing the desserts we are so well known for.

Essential duties, but are not limited to:
– Daily production for all dessert items.
– Prepared desserts in accordance with recipes and established standards.
– Maintains the highest level of quality and portion control of the product.
– Sees to the proper labeling, rotation, storage temperature, and environment required.
– Strive to eliminate over-production and over-purchasing.
– Maintain quality inventory control of your production.
– Orders ingredients and kitchen supplies.
– Ensure that production and storage areas are maintained in accordance with city and state health department codes.
– Follows all the cleanliness standards of refrigerators, dried storage, and kitchen.
– Always promotes positive public/employee relations.
– Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area responsibility.

This person must work well alone and as a team. This position is for production, not for decorating. Candidate expected to produce a high volume of products for the dessert café. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk, or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This person must have a genuine passion and knowledge of food and desserts, be dependable, hard-working, maintain a great attitude, work well on a team, and willingness to learn.
