Job Title: Phone Receptionist –
Department: Family Practice
Reports to: Office Supervisor
Position Level: 3
Needed! One dynamic phone receptionist for busy Ophthalmology Department, excellent phone skills, customer service, attention to details, multi-tasking, and a love of helping people. Will also work with incoming faxes, patient tasks. Will train right candidate.
Essential Functions of the Position:
Answers phones and assists callers
Assists traffic on phones
Makes appointments
Takes messages
Assists with medication refill requests
Handles customer requests or needs
Assists vendors
Directs calls to the proper individual
Addresses Intergy tasks in a timely manner
Completes the end of day processes
Empties HIPAA container into the destruction bin
Logs off Intergy and out of the computer before leaving
Assists Triage Nurse with normal test results
Mails letters to patients with normal test results
Completes task
Additional Responsibilities:
Maintains an organized and clean work area
Directs incoming faxes and mail to correct staff members
Participates in maintenance of front office supplies
Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
Physical and Mental Demands:
Normal physical ability; able to sit for long periods
Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making
High level verbal and written communication skills
Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Occupational Exposure:
Low risk exposure to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards
Job Qualifications:
High school graduate or GED equivalent
Strong customer service orientation
Excellent telephone etiquette
