La Calavera Pizza is seeking a pizza cook. Our business is growing and it’s time to add someone to our team of hard-working, food-loving folks. We’re making the most delicious pizza in town, we’ve just started offering delivery and longer hours of service, and we’re ready for more and more Atlanta pizza lovers to find their new favorite. We have years of experience making delicious sourdough and our crust is the tastiest in town; learning to produce it is a great first step (or part of your already ongoing journey!) into the world of sourdough bread making.
Some kitchen experience is required for this position, but it doesn’t have to be pizza experience. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must have reliable transportation to work. Must be available to work weekends.
Pizza cooks at La Calavera share most responsibilities, but we are currently seeking a cook whose primary responsibility will be assembling and baking pizzas.
Other duties may or may not include:
prepping ingredients, toppings, sauces, etc
making pizza dough
shaping dough balls
stretching/tossing pies
getting food into and out of the oven, recognizing doneness, etc
washing dishes and cleaning work areas/equipment
closing down kitchen, taking out trash
keeping track of inventory; making a note of items that are low with anticipation
communicating effectively with coworkers to ensure product comes out to the restaurant’s standards
Hours of the shift are typically 12:30-9:30PM, Thursday-Sunday. We will soon be increasing the workweek to five days, adding either Monday or Wednesday to the schedule.
Pay starts at $12/hr; will earn portion of tips when fully trained, which average at least $5/hr.
