Position Summary:
As the Public Address Announcer, you will be responsible for clearly and effectively providing the crowd with information regarding the game and marketing initiatives. The Public Address Announcer is an integral part of the in-game experience, creating a fan friendly and entertainment environment.
Essential Functions:
Strong vocal talent with the ability to enhance the Marlins fan experience
Strong knowledge of Major League Baseball, including rules and positions; specific knowledge of Miami Marlins is a plus
Ability to multi-task in a stressful environment
Comfortable announcing to large crowds
Able to adapt, be spontaneous, and react quickly as appropriate
Partner with team members to problem solve in rapidly changing situations
Qualifications & Requirements:
Must have a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
Must be comfortable to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment
Keep a professional demeanor with the ability to interact with fans, staff members, players, coaches and front office executives
Able to attend most if not all home Marlins games and arrive two hours before game time for each game
Suggested Education & Experience Guidelines:
Bachelor’s Degree
5+ years of live production experience
Fluent in English and Spanish is preferred
Experience working as a PA announcer in collegiate or professional sports, in television, in radio or on stage is preferred
