Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. One year of experience in planning, implementing and instructing activities for persons with disabilities in a recreation or school setting are required. Coursework in Therapeutic Recreation, Special Education, Park and Recreation Management or a related field may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Must obtain a Water Safety Instructions certification within one year of appointment. Must obtain an HRS Child Care Training certification during the probationary period. Must be able to perform heavy lifting and assist individuals with disabilities with transfers. Must possess a Driver license. Must be able to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends on a varied work schedule.
