POSITION SUMMARY
The Sous Chef prepares recipes for patients and employees while demonstrating strong cooking abilities and techniques. The Sous Chef also executes daily food preparations under the direction of the Executive Chef. The food service and clinical programs provide services based on department standards for meal delivery, nutritional assessment and patient education.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION REQUIRED
Must complete in-house orientation program
Equivalent to a grade school education required.
EXPERIENCE AND/OR SKILLS REQUIRED
Speaks, reads and writes English
Minimum 3 years of cooking experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn
Requires long periods of standing in high temperature areas.
Location: Mount Sinai South Nassau · Food & Nutrition Services
Schedule: Full-Time, Days (Shift 1), Varied hours 7a-3p or 11a-7p every other weekend
