Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and talented sous chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As a sous chef, you will work closely with our head chef to oversee all aspects of kitchen operations and ensure the delivery of exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
Responsibilities:
– Assist the head chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food cost management.
– Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to standard operating procedures and maintain high levels of food quality and presentation.
– Collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure the availability of fresh and high-quality ingredients.
– Manage food preparation, cooking, and plating processes to meet established standards.
– Maintain inventory levels and conduct regular stock checks to prevent shortages or wastage.
– Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen and promote a clean and organized work environment.
– Stay updated with culinary trends and innovations, and contribute to menu development with creative ideas.
– Assist in the hiring and onboarding of new kitchen staff.
– Act as a mentor, providing guidance and support to kitchen team members to foster their professional growth.
Requirements:
– Proven experience as a sous chef or in a similar role within a reputable establishment.
– In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, flavors, and plating presentations.
– Strong leadership and organizational skills.
– Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
– Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
