Job Overview:

Are you passionate about corporate communications and excited about informing and engaging key stakeholders for a well-known retailer? Macy’s is currently seeking an Associate, Corporate Communications – HR and Technology. This role reports to the Director, Corporate Communications – HR and Technology.

Essential Functions:

  • Build strategic messaging and communications to inform and engage internal audiences.
  • Communicate HR and Information Technology initiatives to the function and across the enterprise.
  • Develop email communications, talking points, newsletters, videos, scripts, presentations and other support materials.
  • Manage town halls and other corporate events, partnering with functional leaders, HR and MTech support teams.
  • Utilize metrics to measure the success of current communications and make adjustments as needed.
  • Enhance storytelling and amplification to express Macy’s brand attributes and strategic vision.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, organizational communications or journalism required.
  • 4+ years of internal, HR, stores/retail or consumer communications experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in corporate communications, with specialization in internal communications, change management, organizational communications, and retail related topics/programs.
  • Expert communicator; able to serve as a key partner with internal stakeholders.
  • Strong personal impact with the ability to easily build relationships and credibility.
  • Flexible approach to work with ability to toggle between projects and priorities in a high-pressure environment.
  • Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels.
  • Self-driven with ability to work independently and effectively plan and execute strategies to achieve priorities.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, and time-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically.
  • Proficiency with MS Office computer programs are required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
