Job Summary
Receives, prepares, issues, stores and rotates food items used at the facility.
Minimum Job Requirements
1 year of storeroom or warehouse experience required.
Qualifications
Job Specific Duties:
Responsible for documenting on the storeroom log all individuals entering and exiting storeroom. Assists in controlling access to storeroom by enforcing proper policies procedures.
Accountable to assure adequate supplies for daily production and provides food items to cooks as needed.
Conducts inventory and ensures proper par levels by ordering food and other supplies as needed for specific volume.
Minimizes shrinkage or loss by communicating and coordinating with appropriate vendors for merchandise return, rejection, and credit. Documents the credit and returns on the vendor log.
Minimizes loss by ensuring the accuracy of all incoming orders by checking quantity and quality of food and food-related items received against purchase orders and specifications.
Accountable to label, date, and check food items for freshness and rotates them following the First In First Out (FIFO) method.
Maintains clean, sanitary and organized refrigeration and storage areas per Infection Control Standards and Policy.
Responsible for maintaining refrigerator and freezer temperature logs according to department standards and policies.
Creates and implements organized process for receiving and reconciliation of food supplies. Ensures that items are categorized and reconciled within the same shift.
Stores food items and other supplies in designated areas of the storeroom, ensures the space is organized and utilized efficiently. Follows all security procedures regarding storeroom organization.
Secures designated areas of potential theft, dangerous chemicals, supplies and equipment to safeguard employees.
Maintains a clean, sanitary working environment. Complies with federal, state and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
Reports needed maintenance or repairs of equipment used. Documents on the equipment log within the same shift and follows up appropriately with vendor to completion of repair.
Common Duties
Maintains accountability by ensuring compliance thru timely completion of licensures, certifications, all competencies, health requirements (PPD, N95, Flu, etc.), and education requirements.
Maintains accountability and timekeeping expectations as outlined by MCHS Timekeeping and Attendance policy & procedures. Ensures behavior is compliant with communication standards.
Ensures that behavior meets/exceeds Targeted Service Scores as measured by the Service Index and/or the internal departmental Service survey.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
High school education or equivalent preferred
Ability to communicate sufficiently well in English both verbally and in writing to request supplies and properly label food items
Knowledge of Spanish helpful
Ability to relate cooperatively and constructively with customers and co-workers
Basic knowledge in use of computers and printers and ability to learn appropriate software application(s)
Able to follow detailed written or verbal instructions
Knowledge of Safety and Regulatory guidelines set by state with food safety
