Shift: Days / 12 hour shifts on a 3/4 schedule
Status: Full Time
Support Associate 3 demonstrates the skills and knowledge necessary to provide basic, supportive clinical and diagnostic functions and observation/assessment of moderately complex and invasive patient care needs appropriate to the age of their patients. Responsible for following applicable unit, division, hospital standards in collecting and documenting actions, event’s, behaviors and other objective data. Contributes toward identifying clinical pathway variances. Assists patients with activities of daily living. Directs supportive tasks related to logistics and transportation. Interacts with patients, families and other members of the collaborative healthcare team. Maintains a clean, safe, aesthetically pleasing work environment. Participates in clinical research trials and projects. Acts as a preceptor.
Qualifications
Experience: Generally requires 0 to 3 years of related experience.
Education: High School diploma is required.
Licensure Certification: Graduation form an approved medical assistant, EKG or the equivalent documented on-the-job training required. Completion of specialty training/approved certification program required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity required.
Knowledge Skill Abilities: Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications. Must meet and maintain current all unit specific and organizational skills/competencies, certifications/licensures, as required by the nursing area.
