US Head of Food & Beverage – (201419)

The US is our biggest market, with clients from all sizes and backgrounds, from start-ups to markets leaders, from CPG to QSR to ingredients makers. The US F&B Sector Chair works closely with the global food & beverage sector chair to create and implement the vision and strategy for the Food and Beverage Sector both internally and externally. This person will bring both experience in, and love for food & beverage. They will have a deep understanding and passion for the vibrant world of food culture. The sector leader will also work in partnership with the US regional sector leadership teams, as well as office and client leaders, to advance F&B efforts by managing and growing the portfolio, navigating conflict management, deepening our expertise, innovating our offering, and developing and applying our F&B Trust IP with existing clients as well as new growth & marketing opportunities with in the region.

Client Growth & Engagement
Actively engages and counsels F&B clients and client leaders to help achieve strategic business objectives and build trusted relationships
Works with global chair and US sector & practice leadership to create and implement growth plans to optimise and build new field to fork capabilities to grow existing clients and to identify strategic prospecting opportunities
Understands and applies industry best practices and proprietary Edelman F&B research and tools in rapidly changing environment for tangible client consult
Grows organic business and increases revenue by cultivating new opportunities
Uses F&B insight, experience and skill to contribute to new business efforts for key prospects; participates in pitch development & review teams
Have strong knowledge and connection to all F&B sector work within region, including internal network, types of work and associated revenues

F&B Thought Leadership, Marketing & Community BuildingBuilds internal F&B community across the US, connecting across Brand, Reputation/Corporate and Public Affairs
Contributes to the global F&B vision, strategy & community
Connects the global and US F&B vision into the Chicago F&B Center of Excellence, working hand in glove to help scale the offering beyond Chicago
Plays an active role in developing and applying F&B IP marketing plan with coordination into region and client leaders
Lead and participate in development of ongoing white papers
Serve as in-region lead and ambassador for F&B specific issues
In partnership with office/region leadership and sector team, plan and execute sector-specific marketing events
Establishes and maintains a strong profile for the firm in the local market by leveraging IP, insights and offerings
Help navigate client conflict in partnership with development lead and other SLE leaders
Partner with F&B development lead to ensure operational reporting, sharing of best practice and ongoing support
