Warehouse Lead Full Time

Description$14.40 / HOUR
4AM – 12:30PM MONDAY – FRIDAY

Position Overview:
Performs manual and system tasks to support inbound and outbound furniture operations. Identifies and resolves issues in various functional areas; put away, staging, loading, shipping. Supports and assembles “make ready” furniture to support efficient warehouse processing and maximize warehouse space usage. Assists in providing work direction and training to Furniture I Associates.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: (in order of importance; other duties may be assigned)
Provides work direction and leads the assigned area while performing the same tasks as those directing. Trains less experienced furniture I associates in assigned area on proper methods and procedures.
Performs the following processes to support inbound and outbound warehouse operations.Utilizes power tools to assemble RTA (Ready to Assemble) furniture and stages for delivery.
Monitors and ensures CFS task completion within shift
Separates and labels product received, stocks product into identified locations verifying SKU and quantity accuracy.
Trained and MHE certified to operate power material handling equipment i.e. Forklift, Electric Pallet Jack etc.
Performs the following non-proprietary software system tasksPerforms inventory counts and location lookups
Follows processes to report discrepancies or issues (i.e., shortages, damage) to supervisor or order management.
Performs a variety of system inquiries and research to support functional areas
Communicates system issues to Application Support and/or management.
Coordinates with Sales Support to resolve items received that are not on purchase order.
Completes Receiving Discrepancy Tickets when vendor shipment is inaccurate and informs Sales Support.
Responsible for shipping and outbound activitiesPicks product with SKU and quantity accuracy
Re-packages, palletizes, and wraps orders as needed.
Sorts, stages, and loads customer orders by route and delivery order.
Picks outbound orders as necessary.
Responsible for inbound freight activitiesScheduling vendor shipments
Utilize proprietary software systems (CFS, Sunrise and Alpha) to perform functional duties and generate reports
Receives vendor purchase orders, stock product, special orders, or customer returns.
Training, Development, and SafetyResponsible for safety procedures being followed in all areas of the assigned warehouse.
Responsible for housekeeping and maintaining all areas of assigned warehouse
Trains less experienced warehouse associates in assigned area on proper methods and procedures.
In some locations warehouse lead is required to be DOT certified to assist moving trucks in the lot
May need to be DOT certified in certain locations and may be required to move Furniture trucks around in our parking lot for loading purposes and/or to our nearby FC location.
Participate in all scheduled physical inventories.

Primary Interactions:
Daily interaction with furniture co-workers and Fulfillment/Delivery management, Application Support, Inventory Control, Furniture Sales Support, vendors/suppliers for scheduling deliveries and obtaining return authorizations for vendor returns.

QualificationsEducation:
High School diploma or equivalent

What You’ll Need
A minimum of 12 months related experience in a warehouse environment or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education or experience
Ability to complete Material Handling Equipment certification through Staples
Proficient in warehouse operations
Basic PC Skills in Windows environment
Detail-oriented
Good Math skills
Good judgment
Problem-solving skills
Basic English language skills (both verbal and written communications)
Ability to recognize process improvement opportunities and make recommendations
Good communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
Must be dependable and demonstrate the ability to read and follow directions
Must be a team player

What we’d prefer, but not required
Ability to obtain Installation Certification for various manufacturer products as required
Ability to be DOT certified in certain locations as required
Prior experience operating warehouse equipment, such as a forklift, pallet jack and cherry picker preferred

Work requires physical effort and use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push/pull, or balance weight for extended periods of time. The employee must frequently lift, move, and/or carry between 70 to 100 pounds. With mechanical assistance, employee will occasionally move up to 300 pounds. Will regularly operate warehouse equipment that requires manual dexterity and use of lightweight tools requiring some coordinated movements. Activities include using a forklift or pallet jack to move furniture; and lightweight tools to assemble furniture.

Works in a warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly operates warehouse equipment and lightweight tools. Using proper safety procedures will eliminate any potential hazards. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
