POSITION SUMMARY:
The Checker will report to the Logistics Manager and Supervisor, in Shipping. The responsibilities are to inspect orders at the staging area in the warehouse; incumbent must check each pallet and verifies that it matches the pallet check slip; check all orders picked to ensure the orders have the correct amount and products; immediately report any discrepancy or mistakes found to Warehouse Manager or Supervisor, incumbent must be detailed oriented to ensure orders are picked correctly. Scans orders as they are finished to confirm that the orders picked were correct and ready to be shipped; routinely reads shipping documents, or equivalent; pays close attention to and ensues that special instructions given by the cruise lines regarding the delivery of their merchandise is enforced; routinely maintains a clean and organize assigned work area; some packaging may be required, occasional usage of bar code readers. Additional duties as assigned. Overtime will be required. Flexible schedule is a MUST.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Inspect orders to ensure correct order shipment fulfillment.
· Attach identification information to products, items or containers.
· Prepare informational or reference materials.
· Collect or prepare measurement, weight, or identification labels and attach them to products.
· Scan all orders to assure that the orders picked were correct for shipping purposes.
· Sort products or materials into predetermined sequences or groupings for display, packing, shipping, or storage.
· Maintain a clean and organize assigned work area.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED, or a combination of experience and/or education in related field, in addition to the following requirements: A minimum of 12 months Stock Picker and/or certified Forklift experience, and a minimum of 12 months Warehouse experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· Possess basic data entry and computer skills
· Skilled in operating warehouse machinery
· Ability to pay attention to detail and thorough in completing tasks
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
· Ability to be reliable, responsible and dependable
· Ability to read and understand information written in English
· Ability to lift upwards of 40 lbs.
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast moving environment
· Detailed oriented.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 – $18.00 per hour
