Warehouse Supervisor – $24 per hour
The Warehouse Supervisor manages all shift and ongoing activities related to warehouse and develops company personnel by performing the duties listed below, or through subordinates as directed by the Cargo Contract Manager/MOD. Must understand the operational contract obligations to our customer(s), and be literate with all computer systems related to the contracted operation. Must be well versed in all aspects of international cargo handling; warehouse buildup and breakdown, with a firm understanding of all associated regulatory concerns, and customs documentation. Must be able to perform job functions of subordinates, as dictated by circumstances. Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company and customer policies and procedures. Observe and enforce all WFS and government safety policies, regulations and directives. Hold all subordinate employees accountable for failure to follow all policies, regulation and directives. Familiarity with security mandates generated from the following agencies is required; Transportation Safety Administration, Federal Aviation Administration, Local Airport Authority and U.S. Customs & Border Patrol.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Two to five years previous management/specialist supervisory experience in warehouse/ramp service duties.
- Independent judgment and decision-making skills required.
- College degree or equivalent experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with personal computer software helpful.
- Must be able to work weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), holidays and days off.
- Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret WFS Employee Handbook, WFS Supervisors Manual, applicable union contract, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical, procedures, or governmental regulations, airline policy and procedures manuals.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, clients, and customers.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to operate equipment and hold necessary licensing (if applicable).
- Reports to work on a regular and timely basis.
- Ability to perform specific responsibilities related to your shift.
