Job Summary:
Central Freight Lines local pickup and delivery drivers are a vital part of customer relations and are responsible for ensuring that our customers’ freight is delivered on time and damage-free. Drivers will have to unload freight at the destination of origin depending on customer and location. Local pickup and delivery drivers will need to effectively document all necessary information on handheld galaxy tablets. Drivers must also be flexible regarding start and end times based on company needs. P&D drivers will supplement line haul when needed.

General Duties And Responsibilities:
Safely picks up and delivers freight to destination on time as specified on freight bill within your local city area
Conducts daily pre-trip inspections and fuel Class A tractor and trailer as needed
Occasionally loads, unloads, stacks, and secures freight in a manner to prevent injury, damage or shifting while maximizing space
Collects freight charges and outstanding bills at time of delivery or pick up. Turns in bills, delivers receipts, money, inspection reports and trip cards to designated areas
Ensures that bills of lading are filled out properly and freight is labeled and marked correctly
Inspect and counts freight, notating proper overages, shortages and /or damages
Placard Hazmat loads as required
Secures new and existing customers
May perform other duties as necessary / subject to change as needed
May supplement line haul as needed
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications And Requirements:
Must have a minimum of one-year Class A tractor trailer experience
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
Must have a Class A CDL with HazMat, Tanker, and Doubles/Triples endorsement. (will allow 30 days to obtain endorsements)
Must be able to pass a drug test and DOT physical with at least a 12-month medical card
Must have the ability to lift and move large quantities of freight ranging up to 75 lbs
Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
Some customer service experience helpful
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
Regularly required to use hands to handle materials, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. Regularly lift objects up to 20 lbs, occasionally lifting objects up to 75 lbs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
