Consultant, Strategic Services–DNA Commercial Insights Temporary

We are looking for an energetic strategy professional with outstanding analytical capabilities and attention to detail to join our high performing team. As a Commercial Strategy Consultant within Deloitte New-venture Accelerator (DNA), you’ll be a critical part of a specialized team that helps shape Deloitte’s future with new growth opportunities across industries and technological domains. We accomplish this by pursuing our mission of building and scaling a portfolio of “Hybrid” businesses that combine Deloitte’s market leading professional services with IP-based products (e.g., data, analytics, or software).

What You’ll Do

As a Commercial Strategy Consultant, you’ll work with the DNA team & firm leaders to identify, evaluate, and scale inorganic and organic Hybrid investment opportunities. You will:

Use a needs-based research approach and engage in hands-on market testing to design and shape new growth opportunities at Deloitte
Use analytical and creative skills to execute complex market research and analysis to help build investment cases; use storyboarding to synthesize & share findings with leadership
Design qualitative and quantitative market research instruments (e.g., surveys, expert panels) and participate in internal and external subject matter expert interviews to assess needs, pain points, demand, willingness to pay / value, usage, fit in client workflows and value chains, competitive positioning, etc.
Work closely with senior leaders in the organization and help in the development of end-to-end commercial strategy to pursue Hybrid growth opportunities
Scale operational excellence across Deloitte’s Hybrid businesses through activities such as: developing pricing models, creating customer feedback loops, and sharing best practices

What You’ll Need

A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in strategy consulting or in a relevant corporate growth strategy role
Strong problem-solving ability that leverages structured, logical thinking, with knowledge of growth strategy development and market assessment frameworks
Outstanding oral and written communication and presentation skills, including advanced PowerPoint slide building and proficiency in storyboarding
Collaborative workstyle and ability to effectively work remotely while handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Intrinsic-motivation, pride of ownership, and intellectual curiosity
Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative findings into leadership-level presentations
Strong Excel skills and experience with structuring and analyzing large quantities of data
Experience conducting structured, time-bound competitive and market research, including a high degree of familiarity with major market research sources and databases
Willingness to travel on a limited basis as needed on projects, i.e., one-two weeks per month Note: due to the COVID-19 pandemic all travel is currently suspended
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
What’s Nice to Have

Familiarity with standard statistical and financial modeling techniques
Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder organizations
Experience designing and conducting expert interviews
Survey design / analysis / coding experience on a platform such as Qualtrics

The DNA team accelerates new business growth by providing critical support to Deloitte’s core business lines as they develop and expand into Hybrid business models. We guide senior stakeholders to the opportunities that make the biggest impact. We are a tight-knit, high-performing team that prides itself on exceptional service and the ability to build long-term, mutually beneficial trusted partnerships. While we are geographically dispersed and work remotely most of the time, we recognize and appreciate the value of in-person interactions and typically co-locate with our local teammates in our local offices two times a week. Note: due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Deloitte’s offices are currently closed, and travel is suspended. All projects and team environments are currently 100% remote.
