Job Summary
Maintains the supplies, general appearance and sanitation of the cafeteria and prepares, assembles, and delivers food trays to patients.
Minimum Job Requirements
High school education.

Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists customers/patients in a friendly and polite manner whenever in need of assistance.
Checks service stations and replenishes supplies (e.g., coffee, ice, crackers, breads, pastries, beverages, condiment containers, paper napkins, trays, plastic ware) as needed.
Ensures customer satisfaction by responding to customer needs while demonstrating a positive attitude.
Ensures that food is served at safe and proper temperatures (hot food hot, cold food cold).
Labels, dates, and checks food items for freshness and rotates them following the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
Maintains the overall department, including equipment (e.g., coffee machines, ice maker), counters, cafeteria floor and tables) in a clean and sanitized condition.
Serves food to customers at designated service stations as needed.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to communicate sufficiently well in English both verbally and in writing to request supplies and properly label food items.
Ability to relate cooperatively and constructively with customers and co-workers.
Basic knowledge in use of computers and printers, and/or ability to learn appropriate software application(s).
Knowledge of Spanish is helpful.
Must be able to follow simple instructions to accomplish repetitive tasks.
Must be able to use and maintain the food service equipment (e.g., microwave, blender, thermometer, refrigerator, patient food carts, and scale).
